Sigh...
(what my "office" looks like now)
There's something sad/hard/funny about the fact that the same week a picture of my office gets posted to the web, in an archive of writers' desks...
I remake my office, convert it into a playroom.
Sigh.
Do I need to email Jennifer and tell her that it's all a lie? That really I now write in my kitchen, while a choo-choo train winds its messy way around my office?

Mine's a cyberlounge/library/TV room. With an orange Danish Deluxe chair that doesn't belong and is waiting to leave home with its young owner.
Often I take my laptop into the bedroom and sit on a bed. But I should have started writing much earlier.
The Australian writers, Darcy Niland and Ruth Park, had six children together and when they moved into a bigger house, Darcy immediately annexed a desk space, much to Ruth's chagrin. But as he had been very poor as a child, she couldn't bring herself to wrench it back from him. She was a kitchen table person for a while too. (Her enormous backlist is testimony to the fruitfulness of such a spot, though.)
That is a best changing table ever.
You got a decent socket set in there?
Thanks Adam!
It appeared here when my grandpa moved into a retirement community, and lost his garage. I had no idea what to do with it, but it turns out to be perfect for this! Wipes clean, sturdy, good drawers, and storage space.
Genevieve,
That's good to hear...
Sigh! I used to have an office, too. Now I have Hadley. But I did get a new ssectional sofa last year for Valentine's Day, so I have a comfy place to sit with my laptop.
It's a very nice kid's room!
And who needs and office when you've got a laptop!
(you've got a laptop, right?)
