Sadder than that...

Sadder than any sad story you can think of, is THIS STORY, at Haaretz. A man kills his 3 month old, admits to it... and the Haredim protest his arrest????

And it's Passover... so we're thinking about the tenth plague. We're thinking about Moses in the basket. The archetype of the slaughtered child. How can a man do this? How can anyone not shout out in horror that he's done it.

Blood libel? Are you kidding me???

Since having the baby, I find I can't even watch Law and Order, becasue baby-deaths scare me so badly.

I cannot understand. I cannot understand.

Happy Passover, everyone...

I cannot understand either- and his wife, his poor wife.

It gets worse, now that my daughter is 19, I can't watch news shows about missing/murdered young women- or young men murdered in crossfire (my son just turned 22).

I heard your NPR commentary (Paul Guest posted a link)- I'm a 'blended' friend but also an Episcopal church choir director/organist. It's good to have understanding but having a smidge of Passover doesn't make you an honorary Jew anymore than liking having a Christmas tree makes you Christian- or doing yoga makes you Buddhist.

I like doing things with intent.

and BTW- I love your book, which I got a awhile back and I should've written to say so!
