Have you met my parents???

There they are, in the middle, getting married...

According to popular myth, my dad vowed to love my mom "when he could" and tolerate her when he couldn't. According to another myth, my grandpa (there on the left in the graph paper pants) tried to hit him and had to be held back, in his chair.

It's funny because it's true. Because my dad was right, that's what marriage is... though most people don't say it aloud.

Hello Laurel's parents! I am waking up in the night thinking about Media Studies and embalmed bodies. And plane crashes. We complain, but don't we think it's sorta fun?

And your dad WAS right, I think, if not very romantic. Perhaps if one considers...well, I'm wondering about God. I mean, if one takes marriage as sacred rather than secular, than something about everlastingness is maybe appropriate, if properly seasoned.

To Love is a complicated verb, as anyone who's cried her way around the block can tell you.

Your parents are beautiful, and look so young. You are going to be an amazing mother.
