ENFPerfection...

Enough with all the online tests! Am I banana or orange? Am I free verse or sonnet? Am I bird or beast?

There's only one personality test I really care about, and that's the Myers-Briggs.

Jung knew what was up, yo.

I'm an ENFP, which comes as no surprise to anyone. My father is an INTP. It is my sneaking suspicion that my husband and I are diametrically opposed and that he's an ISTJ... but I'll never know becasue he's so much an ISTJ that he won't take the damn test...

Here's a quick online version of the test!

You?

I'm supposedly an INFP, but also a die-hard Jungian in some senses who has fundamental problems with how Jung would interpret the J-P dichotomy. Some folks call this an INFX. This is what happens when you read too much, je pense.

and i usually don't believe in tests so much, but every single time i take the test, i get the same type, so i guess there's something to it...

I used to have friends who swore by this thing, but I don't think it works for lawyers. I argue with the questions -- even the first one. What if my current preoccupations are regarding the state of my future plans? Alack.

ESFJ. I have always been ESFJ every time I have taken this test. I took the actual test in high school as part of my career matching skills course. The funny thing is that I ended up in fields where the ESFJ thing makes sense.

ENFP/J. I am equal on Judging and Perceiving, and have been so every time I take this. When I was in training they told me this profile fit well with Med School faculty and Family Medicine docs. And poets! hehehe

"Counselor Idealist" like Gandhi, INFJ, the F predominant 62%.
My SO, INTJ, takes these at corp. work & swears by this one. We're a companion match, even though on the surface our MO seems so different, he being very punctual, into his routine and way more introverted than me—but what matters is the mesh in the day to day, very easy to live with.
But, I still like that my "Mexican name" is "Doña Yeldid" and like the tests in a written-in-light heebie jeebie kinda way: weird accuracies about people I don't know in the first place except how you can get to know someone, intimately, via their poetry and/or blog. Also, you can tell alot about whether or not you might like someone's blog by their test profiles—also weird correspondences. For eg., I get these tests from Peter, one the first blogs I started reading daily & whose poetry I already knew & knew I admired. He's my "pal", ENFJ, & it makes sense to me. 'Sides, you get to tell who's playful & who's just too uptight. Thanks. And, take care. ~Too Serious To Take Life Seriously

Lorna: I know what you mean about compatibilty. My partner is INTP, almost the complete opposite of me, and we are incredibly compatible. A two-extrovert house would be just too much. hehehe

An ENFP here. Took this sometime back and your post prompted me to take it again. I figured maybe seeing the questions again a year or so later I'd view them differently. Maybe I wan't really an ENFP... not that there is anything wrong with it... just looking for loopholes I guess. :)

Well, I guess I really AM an ENFPer.

Is it really any surprise that Laura, Charles, and I are INFPs?

XNFP - I always split the difference on introvert/extrovert right down the middle; inner-driven but often outward-projected, I guess. My husband's an XNFJ - the male version of XNFP, perhaps? (Laura: that Jung guy is right on. :-> ) Anyway: We're both writers, yep. And yes, I've never met a personality test, with or without Jungian cred, I didn't like...

I am a textbook ENFP, as my INTP friend Birdy reminds me all the time. :P
