Thank you...
Thank YOU!!!
I just want to take a sec to thank you guys for bearing with me last month.
Between the death of my Gmother (and the family complications that accompanied it), my uncomfortable and scary pregnancy stuff, my end-of-job work-crunch, going off-meds, a sudden bill for 10K in dental bills, and the difficulty of experienceing all of the above in a town where I don't have a real support system... I was a basketcase.
But now, with a little fall-adjunct gig, day-job finished, and the med-trasition made... all I can think is "How lucky am I?"
I get to have this baby, write, read, teach a little, and cook chicken cacciatore (dinner tonight). I am a lucky little girl.
And whether Atlanta is "our town" or not, it's cheap and beautiful, temperate... and better everyday.
And who knows, maybe someday Chris or I will get a job offer in Charm City and the roaming will all end, back where it started. By the Bay. And I'll go bowling with my brothers once a week. Duck pin.
But if not, I'm still a lucky girl.

Oh I see...bowling with your brothers? I'm not even invited on these bowling alley outings? Just ask Roy who always takes him bowling. Just ask. (Don't ask him about that time he beat me though. That's embarrassing.)
One day I'm going to own a bowling alley, and then you'll see!

Ahem. I would assume that if my sister were done gallavantin' in the far east, and also living in Bmore, she would be living next door to me, in the next rowhouse over... and we would not need weekly league-bowling to cement our friendship...
charm city would be honored to have you back! more poetry here is imperative. plus, the O's are doing real well, hopkins won the finals, and i can't think of a better town. the only downer is that a bushel of good crabs will run you about 300 bucks right now.
believe hon..
Even in Essex?
It's sad. Each year I come back and the crab scene is less what it was. A few years ago we were told that none of the season's crabs came from MD that year.
I remember before there was a Harbor Place, back when it was all just weird dusty/dirty docks on the water... SIGH!
Who are you, anon?
