When one is angry...
And overworked...
When one is angry, and overworked, and one has decided to change one's life... one must first recognize one's honest mistakes. Or one is likely to blame the anger on two, and that is no good. It isn't two's fault.
Mistakes of late:
1. Living in Atlanta (not moving here... which was good, but staying here, has begun to seem in grave error)
2. Caring too much about things I don't really care about (work, other people's problems)
3. Not saving my dollars carefully enough
4. Not writing enough poems
5. Not reading enough poems
So, I have decided to correct this life of mine by moving back to Iowa, to the land where most of my loved ones live. Thisbe! Pieta! Sarah! Sonya! Margaret! I think you are a good family and I will come back... if only I can convince my hubby and we can find jobs and a cheap house... so we can save more dollars.
And the job is mostly done, and will be finished 3 weeks after my return from Newport Beach. So that's good. I am currently looking for adjunct work in Iowa, just in case the move actually happens.
And the poems? Well I wrote one HERE this week. And when I get back to Iowa it will be time to finish (finally) Daphne and Jim.
And for the poem-reading solution? We'll start small Here is a little gem from Salamun's POKER, which you may know is my new fave rave...
What is Abomination
Abomination is when you come home
and say heat up the stove
and no one heats up the stove for you
and it's February
be gone be gone
the most global abomination is peas
It is important to know what matters. Even when you are angry. In a few days I will tell you about my grandmother. Newport Beach/ death-and-dying cocktail.
