So tired....
But I'm doing it...
I've watched others, and sneered, laughed at them... said I'd never do it myself. But it's true, I've jumped off that tallest cliff... I'm off caffeine, after reading a scary article about breast cancer... and I'm DYING of the weary-wearies... ready to fall asleep driving.
On the brighter side, I've decided to substitute something for coffee, becasue of my constant need for an addiction... with BUTTER! Mmmmmm. Butter.
I considered exercise, but that just seemed wrong. So butter it is.

butter is good, but maybe green tea (no milk, no sugar) would be a good sub for your coffee. i wasn't aware the big c was linked to breast cancer...which is odd, cause i've always been the paranoidest about that kind of stuff BUT green tea is supposed to be a cancer fighter....yummy yummy tea.
you're so cute.
One word:
METH
I've heard that it's a fantastic substitute for caffeine. I'd probably go with the KRUPS stainless steel meth lab with thermal carafe which runs about a hundo over at Bed Bath and Beyond.
Quit your job and sleep in every day. You can use this method alone, or in conjunction with the meth for best results.
Hi Laurel,
Kicking coffee is the worst, unless you're a writer who smokes cigarettes--once it gets into your writing routine it's all over. I quit all caffeine, even chocolate (sigh) when I was pregnant with my son. I did it drinking chaya limeade in Mexico, it was only thing that would get rid of the headache. Coming back to the states, I switched to yerba mate tea, www.guayaki.com. I drink it strong, and sometimes use a special yerba mate straw through the loose leaves & little twigs. I'm a serious coffee/expresso drinker & now I'm on sick leave due to a bleeding ulcer that manifests as excessive vomiting. Not good. Yerba mate is good for my stomach, loaded with antioxidents and doesn't contain caffeine (a natural insecticide & nerve poison, that's why it wakes you up, by attacking the nervous system) but another stimulant with a different chemical formula. It's great for writing. I can drink it all day and still go to sleep when I want. They also make it in various flavours and mixtures, even one that tastes like coffee, especially when you use Int. Delight coffee creamer, another personal addiction of mine, but I think the traditional straight-up yerba mate is the strongest. Green tea is good but lacks the umph of a double expresso. I throw 5 teabags in my teapot and I'm good to go. And good thing, I started drinking coffee again (addict) a few weeks ago & it nearly put me in the hospital--again. I know if I don't quit it completely it'll most likely kill me. But it's hard! especially for a writer.
