It has been suggested...

That I may have some "issues"...

That it is not "normal" to fixate on an "animal" thusly...

That Kareem "Bling -Bling" Snyder is not worth 6K when my car is worth 3K...

That I am, perhaps, transferring...

That, perhapss, this is not what is meant by a rainy day, when one is saving for a rainy day...

Readers, am I nuts?

I have five pets, I'm in grad school, & my little dog Viola has had massive surgery because when I first obtained her from Atlanta Humane her knees popped in and out of joint. (luxating patella)

You are absolutely, perfectly, compassionately
NORMAL.

Love, Laura

I find it difficult to deny beloved pets medical treatment, even if the chance for full recovery is low. Spending 6k (ouch!) may not be practical or realistic, but you're hardly nuts for doing it. I wouldn't harshly judge someone who wasn't willing to spend that kind of money either. You have to do what you feel is right.

Money vs. the life of a small, innocent dog...

If you ask me, whoever would ask the question is the one with the "issues."

You, my dear, are only guilty of loving well.

Though one must consider this dog's quality of life. He is probably in constant pain and no amount of love can really ease that. Perhaps it's not worth you going into debt for.

Hi Laurel
Sorry for being anoynmous. I just don't have a blogger acount.
Animal people 'get' it when it comes to the love we have for animals and how they are members of the family-friends that never tell our secrets or judge us.
So, follow your heart and do what works for you and your furry friend.
Of course, this is a biased opinion as I am a dog lover and in the past, spent thousand's on treatment and I would not go back and do it differently. The only thing different with my bernese mountain dog puppy (already 100pds) is that I now have pet insurance.
Cheers,
another Laurel :)
